Ever More Nest

Soaring, river delta Alt-Country that builds houses of emotion across a warm and lonesome landscape.

Rooted in Southern musical traditions and infused with confessional 90s angst, the music of Ever More Nest can likewise lull and rock you right off a front porch. Ever More Nest’s dynamic, homegrown voice—hugged by lush, church-pew harmonies—is complemented by ghostly, effusive guitars, spirited mandolin and banjo, mournful fiddle, and a rhythm section steady as a country train.

Whether in a cinematic crescendo of all-consuming sound or in a quiet soliloquy of only voice and guitar, Ever More Nest allows audiences to wade deep into the waters of their humanness or stay safely ashore, where the rhythm of waves—the steady rock and roll—bring contentedness and joy.

Ever More Nest’s 2018 debut album was named to Offbeat Magazine’s Best 50 Albums of that year and was nominated for Best Alt-Country Album in the international Independent Music Awards.

Emily & The Velvet Ropes:

Emily Robertson is known for an expressive vocal style that in one moment evokes the sultry, smoky air of a post-Depression jazz club before next mesmerizing audiences with the shimmer, sparkle, and vibrancy of a modern Mardi Gras dancing krewe. Emily & The Velvet Ropes set listeners deep into the plush polyester sofas of the lounge in their minds through moody takes of songs by Leonard Cohen, Nina Simone, Portishead, Patsy Cline, and Roy Orbison. From the soulful to the country or crooning, her band’s musical choices satisfy both the introspective and the uninhibited with a cleverness and curiosity not often attempted by New Orleans cover bands.

Band members: Emily Roberston (vocals), Michael Lentz (guitar), Chris Nicotera (bass guitar), Jay Steigner (drums)
