Panic Stricken is a collective of Austin musicians spreading the gospel of Widespread Panic. Founded in late 2014, Panic Stricken has been playing in venues across the state of Texas and beyond trying to capture the sound and vibe of the legendary Athens band. Panic Stricken takes no shortcuts in their approach to the catalog, making sure to hit all the memorable moments, hit all the right time signatures and flourishes that make the music what it is. They do all of this, while adding jams and improv from their own hearts.

All the members of Panic Stricken have Widespread Panic in their hearts, as it is a requirement for success. This philosophy came in handy on one of their finest moments. When Panic Stricken was on a temporary break and hadn't rehearsed or played a show in almost three months, Widespread Panic frontman, John Bell, fell ill with COVID and Widespread Panic had to cancel their Austin, Texas shows at the last minute after thousands of fans arrived in town for the weekend. Panic Stricken got the call to play an impromptu show at the Empire Control Room and Garage in Austin, TX in front of a sold out crowd and absolutely crushed it with a super set of Widespread Panic bangers. Some might call it divine intervention, but whatever it was, it helped save the weekend for a bunch of good people. It went down pretty much like this: https://youtu.be/CVhTywo4IAU
